Happy Solstice!

On Wednesday, December 21, the day of the Winter Solstice, we celebrated Yule. As it was Gareth's 1st holiday season, we did our best to capture the spirit digitally. Kathleen did a marvelous job decorating the Yule tree. Doesn't the tree make our place look festive?

Gareth's choice in wardrobe really warmed my heart. Go Nuggets!

With the prelimary photos out of the way, we turned our attention to the task at hand: presents! We outfitted Gareth with an avalanche beacon just in case he got lost in the mountain of goodies.

He wasn't quite sure what to make of the situation. Here he is giving us the, "Uh, what's going on?" look.

Gareth tore into his first package . . . and found himself distracted immediately by the crinkley wrapping paper. He become so interested in the wrapping and tissue paper, that he essentially ignored the toys/clothes/books inside the packages.

The only thing that drew his attention away from the paper madness was our threat to put him in the zoo.

That's right, Gareth, the zoo.

Overall, we had a lovely Solstice celebration and owe our friends and families a great many thanks. Thanks for all the heartfelt gifts. To each and every one you, no matter what holiday you celebrate this year, we hope your celebration is filled with love, light, and laughter.
